The SMA GUI Toolkit Data entry capabilities
MINISIS supports full screen data entry with, cut-and-paste editing, duplicate checking, word-wrap and field scrolling. User-defined worksheets with field-specific context-sensitive help can be built to solicit input from users. Records may be modified at any time and global updates are supported so that the same change can be made to any number of selected records, based on user-specified selection criteria.
The software provides for real-time data validation so that entered values may be checked against authority files. Authority files may be updated during data entry, depending on user’s security profiles and database specifications. Referential integrity checking is provided so that, depending on user specifications, changes made to authority file values which exist in validated fields may be blocked or may trigger automatic updates of those validated field values throughout the system.
Online expansion of values from expansion tables and field masking are also provided for. Via the SMA’s GUI toolkit Screen Painter, the client can quickly add, change or remove fields and test on screens to ensure a practical, efficient and custom form layout is supported to ease any data entry requirements for any type of entry. The GUI Toolkit Screen Painter supports images, graphics, colours and most fonts to create a dynamic data entry worksheet. Via the internet interface (MWI), clients can use HTML instead of the Screen Painter toolkit of the desktop system to give 100% freedom for the presentation and contents of the data entry screen.
It should also be mentioned that MINISIS is currently adding on the internet interface product called MWI to allow for easy creation of data entry screens for the Internet. This end product will reduce the need for extensive web experience by having the internet interface dynamically generate the HTML / CSS for data entry screens via easy to use extensions on the SMA GUI Toolkit.
