XML and Data exchange options
The MINISIS system is able to exchange data in a number of standard formats, both with other systems, and with other MINISIS applications running on different platforms. Currently supported formats are: XML, Comma delimited, CSV, ISO 2709, including MARC data; fixed length format such as is used by spreadhseet programs; fixed order format as is used in the past by older mainframe and micro database systems like dBase® and of course, any simple text format. Users may define filters for massaging data into and out of the system.
In addition to exchanging data, MINISIS is capable of exchanging database definitions and secondary structures such as report specifications and worksheet definitions. This ability makes it possible for different sites using the software to share their applications more seamlessly. Records may be imported to update existing databases by adding new records, replacing changed records and removing deleted ones.
